This is were the Sierra  Madre  mountains sink directly into the Pacific Ocean creating small shallow coves, pinnacles, huge  boulders, caves and slope bottoms.  Caletas, Majahuitas and Cerro Bola are located between Los Arcos and Yelapa 10 nautical miles from Puerto Vallarta. Enormous amounts of sea life and biodiversity inhabit the shallow waters between 10 ft. to 60 ft. Although there are not many coral formations in the area, the amount of sea life in this ecosystem is impressive, hundreds of shy garden eels live in the sand slope bottoms, the largest School of yellow tail surgeon fish, clouds of damsels surrounding the huge boulders, eagle rays feeding of the sandy bottoms, octopus, sea horses, green turtles...
Majahuita Punta Norte (Majahuita North Point), Majahuita Punta Sur (Majahuita south Point), Cerro Bola, Punta Cerro Bola, Colomitos, Caletillas (small cove), Caletas (The Coves), and Colimilla  are some of the coves we can pick to scuba dive and snorkel.

Las Caletas was once the private home of film director John Huston who considered it one of the most beautiful places in the world. Nestled in a secluded nature preserve on the southern shores of Banderas Bay, Las Caletas is now Vallarta Adventures' own exclusive tropical beach hideaway

Las Caletas is so isolated and unspoiled, its only accessible by sea, so climb aboard our first class catamaran and sit back and marvel at the most fantastic scenery the Mexican Pacific has to offer. Once Las Caletas comes into view, you'll be struck by its natural beauty as it jumps out at you against a steep backdrop of bright green canopies.

Once settled on shore, you can either relax or really really relax. Whether you want to bask in the tropical sunshine on the beach, climb into a hammock and chill out in the shade, or indulge in a therapeutic massage or facial at our hilltop Spa Center - it's all about taking it easy to re-invigorate your mind, body and soul in one of the most beautiful settings on earth.

Throughout the day our expert guides will be on hand to offer snorkeling, scuba diving and kayaking tours giving everyone the chance to discover and explore the calm, clear waters and hidden charms of this isolated cove we're so proud of.

Away from the water there's an abundance of other activities; learn to cook paella, discover Las Caletas' prolific flora and bird life on a walk through the jungle, orchid gardens and interactive parrot center, or explore the natural amphitheater and the Mayan Pyramid that serves as center stage for the contemporary dance performance of our Rhythm of the Night tour.

Las Caletas is purely and simply Mexico's Garden of Eden - a wonderful and enchanting tropical beach haven where you can kick back, relax and let all the stress slip away.
